Council Minutes - July 21st, 2005
The meeting of July 21st , 2005 was called to order with the Pledge of Allegiance by Mayor Robert C. Bickley.

Roll Call: Present -Bagnato, Dickman, Fox, Jenkins, Kovesdi and Wolf.

Due to a malfunction with the tape and the Fiscal Officer on vacation, no formalities of this meeting are available.

Motions were made and seconded to approve the Minutes of July 5th , 2005. Vote-all yeas, motion carried.

The bills for July 21st , will be paid when the Fiscal Officer returns from vacation.

CITIZEN PARTICIPATION

Village residents were in attendance to discuss laws and legislation on sidewalks and roadways.

NEW COMMITTEE BUSINESS

Streets, Sidewalks, and Storm Sewers -None

Safety-A motion was made and seconded to remove David Johnson from the police roster. Johnson was hired at the previous meeting as a part-time officer, but has since decided to not take the job. Vote-all yeas, motion carried.

A motion was made and seconded to hire Christopher Zarlenga as a part-time officer at $8.75 an hour with one-year probation, effective July 21st , 2005. Vote-all yeas, motion carried.

A motion was made and seconded to hire Melissa Vartorella as crossing guard at $8.42 an hour with a one-year probationary period. Vote-all yeas, motion carried.

A motion was made and seconded to accept the resignation of part-time officer Dave Fate as of July 30th, 2005 due to back problems. Vote-all yeas, motion carried.

LEGISLATION

AN ORDINANCE SETTING THE TAP FEE FOR PROPERTIES ACESSING THE GRAVITY SEWER TO BE CONSTRUCTED ALONG LANDSDOWN STREET IN THE VILLAGE OF MILAN, OHIO. A motion was made and seconded to bring this ordinance to its third and final reading by title only. Vote-all yeas, motion carried. A motion was made and seconded to adopt. All council members voted-yes, motion carried. Ordinance no. 387-07-05

AN ORDINANCE DISIGNATING THURSDAY AS GARBAGE PICKUP DAY WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF MILAN. A motion was made and seconded to let this ordinance die. A roll call was taken with all members voting -yes, motion carried.

A motion to adjourn was made and seconded, vote-all yeas, motion carried
